Meet the Team

Miranda Desrochers
(currently on maternity leave)

MA Counselling Psychology, Registered Psychologist

Miranda is a Registered Psychologist with an MA in Counselling Psychology from McGill University and specialized training in play therapy, EMDR, CBT, ACT, and formal assessment.

Miranda provides a research-informed, individualized approach to meet the unique needs of every child and family she sees. She believes that we all have a natural desire for growth and authenticity and that children have a lot to teach us about our relationships to ourselves and others. She takes a child-centered, attachment-informed approach, meeting each child and family where they currently are with a non-judgmental attitude of acceptance. She draws heavily from play therapy, expressive arts therapy, attachment-based, and trauma-informed interventions in addition to more traditional talk therapy approaches.

In addition to counselling interventions, she is also skilled in administering psycho-educational and psychological assessments to investigate individual patterns of strength and areas of need.

Rebeca Tejada

Masters of Counselling, Registered Provisional Psychologist

Rebeca’s educational background in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Western Ontario, coupled with a Master of Counselling from City University, equips her to draw from evidence-based research about the brain and translate it into compassionate, empathetic, and authentic interactions with children, teens, and their families. She holds specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices.

Rebeca’s experience spans both non-profit organizations, where she worked extensively with children and youth, and private practice settings, where she had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and from all stages of life.

In her counselling work, Rebeca prioritizes the therapeutic relationship to foster a welcoming and safe environment where individuals can grow and heal by tapping into their unique strengths, experiences, and supportive relationships. She believes that the best outcomes in therapy are achieved by building on what is strong in an individual, rather than focusing on fixing what’s “wrong.”
